It's early still, you're fast asleep
And dreaming nice but not for long
'cause soon you need to wake and weep
To someone's noisy favorite song.
"It all begins" you start to think
And right you are 'cause soon enough
The dishes start to hit the sink
As they get washed by dad so rough.
You get up and you walk 'few feet
Head for the window, seek some air
But as you do, more noise you meet
'cause folks outside don't seem to care.
You leave the room and plug your ears
And think the worst is now behind
Yet hear a drill and think of tears
Feels like they're drilling through your mind.
You soon give up and go to nap
And for some time it all goes well
In fact it's all just one big trap
Your next-door neighbor starts to yell.
Here comes the night, you pray for silence
Turn off the lights and hug the bed
But dogs outside then stage some violence
There'll be no noise once you'll be dead.

Thank you for appreciating it! This poem "thing" is new to me, but thanks to people like you, I'm encouraged to go on.
